July's schedule is here

July will be a busy month for some of our teachers! Jim and Elizabeth are taking July off for travel, but they plan to resume teaching their classes in August!

Kerem is out of town for most of July, so Jason will be substituting for his Gentle Yoga class.

Welcome to Let It Be!

ABOUT US

Let It Be Yoga is a Watkinsville yoga studio affiliated with Athens' Rubber Soul Yoga. Our instructors are volunteers. Suggested donation is $5-10 dollars per class, but you may donate as much or as little as you are able! Donations to Let It Be are independent from those of Rubber Soul.

Our classes are great for people of all experience levels, including beginners. Yoga can be a helpful practice in anyone's life, whether you need exercise, meditation, relaxation, or self-discipline. Come experience the many benefits that yoga has to offer. Contact us if you have any questions!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How do I get there?

A: 90 Barnett Shoals Road is very near downtown Watkinsville, in the red barn that has a yarn store (Main Street Yarn) on the bottom floor. The yoga studio is on the second floor. You can park anywhere along the right side of the barn. The door to the stairs is on the left side of the building (around the corner, on the opposite side from the driveway). More directions and pictures are at rubbersoulyoga.com.

Q: Do I have to register for classes?

A: No, all classes are on a walk-in basis...come whenever you feel like it! However, all students must sign in before every class at the donation box in the back room (behind the room where we practice). This sign-in sheet is also a waiver. If you are under 18, you need to have a guardian sign for you.

Q: What type of yoga do you practice?

A: If the class is listed simply as "yoga," then it is a Hatha yoga class suitable for all experience levels. [Even then, the exact style of the class may vary based on who is teaching it and what they love about yoga (and life). See the teacher biographies and class descriptions at rubbersoulyoga.com for more!] In Hatha yoga, we focus on our breathing as way of connecting the mind to the body as we move through the poses. We enjoy feeling good in the present moment, not worrying about fitting into "perfect" postures or keeping in sync with everyone else. We are all in a different place and honoring that is part of yoga.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Wear exercise clothing. We suggest you wear a top that is snug enough so it won't fall down around your face if you bend over! We practice barefoot (you can wear socks if you like). Shoes are not worn in the studio.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Please bring a mat and any other props you need. We have mats, blankets, blocks, and bolsters for use in classes if you cannot bring your own. It is more hygienic to use your own mat.

Q: What do I do when I get there?

A: We recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can sign in and set up at your leisure. Take off your shoes before entering the studio; you can put them in a cubby on the porch or carry them upstairs to place in the cubbies in the back room. Sign the waiver in the back room, leave a donation if you like, and grab whatever props you need (mat, blanket, block, etc.). Don't forget to turn off your phone! Then you can find a space in the practice area to roll out your mat and prepare for class. We're pretty easy-going...if in doubt, just ask! :-)
