Yoga in Fall
Fall is a necessary time of seeming death and decay for some (leaves, plants, insects, etc.) and preparing for dormancy by others ( bears, snakes, etc.). The natural world has beautiful ebbs and flows between seasons all necessary for growth, renewal, survival, thriving...
We (people) though, with our rational brains/minds, are often too busy to Really observe the seasons on a deeper level besides noticing a change in the weather. Our rational, thinking sides are a beautiful thing, truly (and perhaps more on that in another letter) and yet we are also part of the natural world. Therefore, it would be beneficial for us to take time to participate in the natural world on a level closer to the trees and other animals.
Enter, Yoga in Full in the Fall.
While on your mat, set your intention towards deeper ideas. Take the example of the idea of death. Like leaves on a tree. The tree is inevitably shedding what is no longer needed in order to prepare for new growth after a time of rest, dormancy. What might we shed through a form of "death"? It could be letting go of ideas and/or concepts that no longer serve us, forgiveness towards some one or some situation or towards oneself, etc. Leading us to sit for a time, perhaps just the time spent on your mat With no replacement idea or concept to fill in the old ones you've released. Just rest (or lie dormant).
We are then allowing space for growth...a place for different, hopefully more enlightened, ideas and concepts to come in.
Remember, practicing yoga a lot of the time is with asana (pose) with pranayama (breath) such that you may find in a class. This is good! However, yoga most certainly also is in moments with deep breaths, quiet, contemplation, meditation, prayer, mindful conversation, diet, etc. Albeit, when we first begin yoga, these Yoga in Full practices are easiest on the mat often with a guide. In time, they translate off the mat into our worlds or lives.
Come practice Yoga this Fall in Full with us at LIBY. Or, where ever you feel is most beneficial. Just practice.

October 2014 updates!
Hi, everyone!
We've had some shuffling around in the schedule, so make sure you take a look. There are no classes on Wednesdays for this month, but we've made up for it by adding new classes and a new teacher!
Sarah will be teaching a general yoga class as well as Laughing Yoga. Be sure to check it out!
Chanda will now be teaching a Beginners' Yoga class expressly for newcomers who'd like to ease in to practicing yoga.
Dr. Cal Clements' yoga workshops have been moved to Sundays at an earlier time, as well.
Namaste and happy fall!

August 2014 Updates
We have a lot of great news for this month! Starting on
Friday, August 1st, the studio will be in the larger space downstairs (formerly
Main Street Yarns & Fibers). Bring your friends to help us fill it up! J
A big welcome back to two of our wonderful teachers! Kerem
has returned from his summer break to teaching Wednesday's Gentle Yoga
class...thank you so much, Jason, for subbing for him in July. Dr. Cal
Clements, founder of our affiliate studio Rubber Soul Yoga, is visiting again
to teach a special workshop series every Thursday night focusing on essential
yoga poses. The theme for each workshop is listed on the schedule. Don't miss
this exciting opportunity to improve your yoga practice and knowledge!
We are also very pleased to welcome two NEW teachers to the
studio! Maleah will be teaching yoga Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30
(perfect for perking you up before lunch), and Meera leads her Gentle Yoga
class on Tuesdays at 6 PM (excellent for evening relaxation).
Last but not least, a sincere thank you to all of our
friends for attending and supporting Let It Be Yoga! With this month's
expansion, we will be able to bring the community even more of the yoga
opportunities that everyone can join in. It wouldn't have been possible without
all of you! Namaste.
